Independence Day

We had a fairly low-key 4th of July but enjoyed it nonetheless. We had some friends over for dinner and water games. The Elegante’s live in west Farmington but were friends we made in West Jordan. We just followed them (and the Maughans) up to Davis County a few years later. I wasn’t interested in a hot BBQ so we got pizza and took it easy. In the meantime, we made a giant (Al Jefferson-sized) water bed out of 3.5 mil plastic. We filled it up, let the kids run and play on it, and then poked holes in it so it acted like a water slide. It was a lot of fun for the kids.

After food and water at our house, we went to the Elegante’s house for fireworks. They’ve been stockpiling fireworks for a few years and we got to enjoy the fruits of their labor. It’s been very hot for the last two weeks but this was a great way to beat the heat and celebrate the holiday.

  1. Thank you for your visit yesterday. Ammon is in 7th heaven with his Ipod – he doesn’t even pay attention to me when it’s on. 🙂 It’s charging right now. That was one cool gift!!

  2. What great pics. and looks like a great time..
