So much to write about. I could write about the baby shower Jen and my sisters (and Mom) threw for my sister Gillian. But I’m too manly for that. I could write about the food we’ve been eating here at the Clark house. But I’ll save that for another day. I could write about our Valentine’s Day adventures, but, while the dinner I cooked for the family was great, I don’t want to write about it.
So I’ll write about our little monster. We affectionately call him either The Boy, Bubba, Austie-Poo, and Monster. But I think his most common nickname these days is “No!” He’s 14 months old and decided he liked to climb on the kitchen table via the chairs. He’s able to reach things on countertops, tables, beds, etc., and therefore he grabs EVERYTHING. He’s not content to play with his own stuff; no, he wants to grab anything and everything within reach. If he weren’t so cute, we’d send him off to Adrianne so he could fit in with other boys. Our girls were substantially different than this little kid. I can only imagine what it was like for Adrianne and Mike to raise three boys! They must be tired, ’cause we are and we only have one.

I love his hair! He is so adorable, I really wish Ansleigh and him could get together…they could tear up a house.
Well, I just have to say, it’s a good thing these boys of ours are just so darn cute. But yes, he’d fit right in. I remember feeling like such a horrible mother when I’d see all my friends and their good, quiet, calm girls and look at my little monsters. And then my friends started having boys and they’d come to me and say, “I can’t get anything done. I can’t take a shower. He gets into everything. I’m going crazy.” Then I realized I wasn’t a bad mother–I was just a mother of boys!! Love these little boys. Austin is adorable and we’d love to take him.
Love it …. Love him….. happy that you get to have the wonderful opportunity to see how you used to be, Jess. And think about this: I raised 6 monsters but in the end I thought the monsters were easier to raise than the 5 girls. I had a hard time dealing with all the drama, cat fights, moods, etc. The boys were just busy! Welcome to the world of wonderful little boys!
A handful, but a darling handful. K has already started crawling and I am amazed at how much dirtier he is ALL the time (then when Mc was crawling). His shirts are filthy, socks….boys.
Yes you have a typical boy. My boys climbed all over things, shook their cribs till they broke. I had to get a new crib for each child until Alyssa and then Scott was able to use her crib because she was so gentle and never shook it, then Scott came along and broke his crib too. All the boys got into way more than Alyssa and they all still act kinda crazy. I thought as they grew into teens that it would get easier and maybe if there was only one boy here it would, but as teens they still are rough housing all the time and I catch them playing football in the house multiple times a week even though I’ve told them a thousand times not to. The fighting is over the top. I think it’s because there are 4 all close in age. Alyssa is only 12 and hasn’t really hit the teenage drama years, however all the older boys are in their teen years and I think they are so hard to raise, so personally I am thinking girls are easier right now. Maybe I’m just not cut out to raise boys.
Okay, I love this boy! He loves me a lot, you know it too. I am so the favorite aunt in the family. Enough said. haha
That last picture of him just kills me. I so hope my little boys look like this monster. He is going to be like Eli in a sense that all of the girls are going to giggle as they pass by his house with their mothers driving them to and from places. I love it. I love little boys.
Austin is such a looker! And of course he’s a handful, look at his dad! If we ever need something destroyed (because who doesn’t? Especially things like phones and remotes) all I have to do is let Peyton see it. It’s really a merciful quick death. We should get these boys together again and see what kind of havoc they can raise!
I don’t know how you could ever look at this little man and get mad at him. Those puppy dog eyes would win me over everytime!
